The wonder chairs for those with disabilities.

Sarah’s Message from the CP Association of MB

Sarah’s Message from the CP Association of MB

Ready, steady, cycle…Twenty years and three bikes later, I am an avid believer in the products produced by Freedom Concepts. As a parent of a child with CP, a member of the Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba and the coordinator of CPAM’s Stationary Bike Race, I, like many others, continue to benefit from Freedom Concepts’ generosity and expertise. Thousands of us do. Partnerships like ours make believers of us all. Take the awarding of a Freedom Concepts Chill-Out Chair to three-year old Jacoby Zebinski from Selkirk, Manitoba. Prior to the gifting, Jacoby could not be left alone without support for more than a few minutes. He needed to be propped up properly and continuously throughout the day. At the annual CPAM Prize Day, held at Great-West Life, FC and CPAM changed all that. Jacoby was awarded an army-brown upholstered custom-made Chill-Out Chair, which provides him with proper support, enabling him to sit alone with ease. His mother is not the only one who’s thrilled. “What Jacoby likes best of all, however, is his ability to sit and play with his twin sister and friends,” says his mother, Vanessa Zebinsky. “In his Chill-Out Chair, Jacoby joins us for dinner at our level; he watches baseball and participates fully without requiring such constant attention. It’s a relief for the entire family. And no doubt about it, Jacoby enjoys his independence.” My daughter, now in her fifth year at university, still enjoys racking up the number of times she circles our home Crescent on her Freedom Concepts bike. Increasing fitness and maximizing independence creates a recipe for a more enjoyable future. Freedom Concepts energy assists us all in achieving it. Thanks guys, Sarah Yates-Howorth CPAM Bike Race...

Halie’s Roll’er

Halie’s Roll’er

Our twin girls were born at 25 weeks, and as a result of the prematurity Halie now has spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy.  She is not able to sit, talk, walk, or eat on her own.  We are always trying to come up with other positioning for her so she is not always sitting in her wheelchair, laying on the floor, or sitting in someone’s lap.  Her therapist recommended the Chill-Out Chair they had at their clinic and we had seen it at the Abilities Expo as well.  We received the chair a couple of months ago and it has been such a blessing.  It can be easily moved from one room to the next and her sister can even move it as well!  It is a safe, comfortable alternative so she can sit back and watch on the Ipad with her sister and doesn’t have to be held all the time.  Halie is able to interact/play with her twin sister easier.  So thankful for this chair, it gives her the freedom I know she needs! Thanks again so much!  Next thing is to save up for the bike for her so she can play outside with her sister.  She loves the adaptive bike she uses at therapy. Take Care, Allison...

Caleb’s Roll’er

Caleb’s Roll’er

We have been looking for a long time for a comfortable chair for our son. We could never find anything deep enough for him to sit in without him slipping out. The Chill Out chair was recommended by one of his new therapists and we love it! It’s the first chair that we have found that supports him properly and allows him to sit up and join in with family activities. We also love the fact that it is offered with wheels so that we can push the chair around the house instead of having to pick him up and move him. We would definitely recommend this chair for other special needs families!...

Amelia’s Roll’er

Amelia’s Roll’er

The Chill-Out Chair has been one of the best investments we’ve made for Amelia. Amelia is on a feeding pump three times daily and now she has a comfortable place to sit with a sturdy tray for her necessities.  We’ve tried lots of chairs for her and this one seems to be a keeper. I don’t think we’ll use anything other than the Chill-Out Chair from here on out.  Amelia loves being in it and we love that she is upright and safe.  We have The Roller and transferring Amelia from room to room is a breeze now.  We affectionately call it her taxi. Thank you, Amelia and...

Luke’s Chill-Out Chair

Luke’s Chill-Out Chair

We came across the Chill-Out Chair…and we are in love with it! It is very challenging to get Luke in a very comfortable position. This Chill-Out Chair affords him that ability to put him in a nice comfortable position and he can relax just like everybody else in the living room at night enjoying the night’s activities. This is a great product…and we are blessed and very happy that we found it for him! – Paul and Felice
